Early Beta Phase
Mozilla stated that this VPN service will initially have a simple structure, but the company plans to improve and expand its capabilities based on user feedback. The long-term goal is to create the best integrated VPN browser on the market.
Although the technical details of the Firefox VPN have not been fully disclosed, it’s worth noting that Mozilla VPN currently relies on Mullvad servers for its infrastructure. Therefore, experts believe the Firefox VPN will likely use the same secure Mullvad network, ensuring strong privacy protection and fast performance.

Mozilla has clarified that Firefox VPN only collects limited technical data, such as connection status and daily data usage, and stores this information for up to three months. Importantly, the company does not log or track any websites visited by users, maintaining strict privacy standards.
To join the Firefox VPN beta program, users must have a Mozilla account. Beta testers are randomly selected, and once chosen, they can enable the VPN via a VPN icon that appears on the Firefox toolbar. There are no bandwidth or usage limits for beta users during the testing phase.

Firefox VPN vs Mozilla VPN
Although both services are developed by Mozilla, Firefox VPN and Mozilla VPN serve different purposes. Firefox VPN is a completely free, browser-only feature, designed to secure online activity within Firefox. In contrast, Mozilla VPN is a paid service that protects the entire device, offering a more comprehensive layer of security and privacy across all apps and connections.
